Position Overview:
The Systems Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of approximately15-30 active fire alarm and/or low voltage projectsacross Hays Electrical Solutions' footprint. Project totals may vary and are subject to change based on project scale and leadership evaluation.
This position plays acritical role in upholding, generating, and refining Hays' internal best practices. The Systems PM will work closely with field teams, operations, and leadership to ensure all projects are executed with precision, profitability, and safety. This role will requirejob site travel as neededacross local and regional markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Managemultiple concurrent Fire Alarm and/or Low Voltage projectsthrough all phases-initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout Walk each assigned job siteat least 1-2 times per monthto assess job progress, QA/QC compliance, risk, coordination needs, and subcontractor performance. Summarize findings in a written report distributed to the Electrical Superintendent, Foreman, and Project Management team Collaborate with leadership tocreate, refine, and enforce Hays Systems best practicesfor installation, execution, and field efficiency Identify and document scope gaps or changes, and generate accurate, timely change orders Create and maintainproject-specific procurement schedules, ensuring timely material delivery and subcontractor readiness Develop and issueRFIsto address design conflicts or field challenges proactively Maintainreal-time awareness of project budgets, providing regular updates and forecasts Communicate anticipatedfinancial and schedule impacts, and collaborate with stakeholders to execute corrective actions Prepare for and leadmonthly WIP (Work-in-Progress) meetings, including all required forecasting and reporting documentation Schedule and coordinateinternal and external labor and subcontractors, ensuring accountability and alignment with project milestones Ensurecontract complianceand track project deliverables against contractual and code requirements Work collaboratively withestimating, design, and purchasing teamsto ensure project alignment from precon through delivery Maintainclear and consistent communicationwith clients, GCs, internal departments, and external vendors Assist in closeout processes, including punch list tracking, testing & commissioning, documentation delivery, and warranty handoff Track and help drivesubcontractor performanceand accountability Monitorsafety protocols, report job hazards, and support a safe working environment in all activities Act as afield liaison and escalation pointfor complex system questions, documentation needs, or code interpretations Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing Fire Alarm and Low Voltage projects across all phases, from planning to closeout. Proficient in NFPA codes, system commissioning, and field installation standards, with hands-on QA/QC and subcontractor oversight. Skilled in project budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and change order management to ensure timely, on-budget delivery. Strong communicator with experience leading WIP meetings, RFI generation, and cross-functional coordination with internal and external teams. Certified in NICET (Level II or above) in Fire Alarm Systems; PMP certification and construction-related degree preferred. Proficient with project management tools (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project), technical documentation, and client-facing communication. Benefits:
