Works within the Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) to plan, schedule and perform water sample collection for drinking water contaminants at public water system sources, treatment facilities, and distribution systems
Conducts field measurements of residual chlorine concentration, and other water quality parameters in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Tracks, schedules, and conducts re-sampling of incomplete analysis reports and follow-up compliance or investigative sampling for maximum contaminant level detections and/or water complaints within required timeframe.
Coordinates and schedules sample collections and analyses with certified laboratories.
Provides technical assistance in planning and location of point of collection taps for routine or investigative monitoring purposes.
Assists with emergency response sampling activities as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills.
Great attention to detail and follow up.
Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED:
Advanced degree.
Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, engineering, environmental sciences, or related field.
Minimum 1 year professional experience performing water sample collection.
Minimum 1 year professional experience with reporting or data analysis.
Relevant industry certifications.
