Job Description:
Typical Day in the Role • Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to manage and advance design initiatives for various teams, including maintaining and redesigning a main website and migrating component libraries to a new UI design language. • Key projects: This role will contribute to the upkeep and eventual redesign of subscription flows for the main site and the migration of component libraries for the new UI design language working in concert with a few other designers. • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 1-2 meetings per day with PMs or engineering, participation in design reviews, weekly one-on-ones, bi-weekly syncs with PMs, however the majority of the role will be spent on heads-down design time.
Candidate Requirements • Years of Experience Required: 5+ overall years of experience in the field. • Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role. • Disqualifiers: Candidates with portfolios consisting only of unshipped work will not be eligible for the role. The team loves loves seeing all kinds of work but if the whole portfolio is only work that hasn't shipped this may be a concern. Also people who don't talk about their process evolving along they way, there are always problems within projects and designers should be able to talk through how plans changed during the process. • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain experience in design tokens or semantic tokens, and significant experience in design system libraries. • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines for engineering hand-offs and demonstrating a strong understanding of user journeys and the design library/systems and team processes after a few months on the team.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience 1. Minimum 5 years experience with Figma, specifically with component or design system libraries (transversing or organizing) 2. Minimum 5 years experience with working in cross functional teams, personally conducting handoffs to engineering teams. 3. Minimum 3 years experience with visual design skills (graphic design skills may also help). 4. A Portfolio attached. The ideal prortfolio includes a variety of projects showing end-to-end flows, clear user journey mapping and clear thought to how the customer goes from the first point to the end points, an explanation of design process and collaboration (which will be expanded upon in the portfolio review), and experience designing for desktop and mobile experiences.
Hard Skills Assessments • Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: ASAP week of 8/11. • Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 2 rounds, an initial screen with sponsor, then a small panel portfolio review with a few interviewers. • Required Candidate Preparation: Candidates should be prepared talk through their flows, grounding the panel in the user journey and user goals. Candidates should bring best work and design storytelling, and should be prepared to answer questions during the portfolio review.

-Design and evolve components and patterns within the site experience, ensuring alignment with the new design system. -Help define and elevate the visual and interaction standards for the site, with a focus on improving subscription flows and establishing a cohesive, user-centered experience. -Collaborate with design, engineering, and PM partners to define and deliver user-centered solutions that scale across surfaces. -Contribute to the migration of legacy UI to the new UI, balancing consistency, accessibility, and performance. -Participate in critiques, design reviews, and cross-functional syncs to ensure quality and cohesion. -Use Figma and other tools to create specs, prototypes, and documentation that support implementation and iteration. -Work closely with engineers to ensure the design in implemented effectively and iterate in code to refine the design and respond to user feedback.
