Green Sage Cafe is looking for a General Manager for our Merrimon Avenue location. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual who is passionate about serving delicious, healthy meals to our customers and can help lead our staff in doing so. Shifts are between the hours of 7am-5pm so no late nights required. GMs can expect to work 45-50 hours per week with the majority of time actively working in the cafe with an emphasis on the BOH operations. GM's must be able to learn and execute the entire food and beverage menu in addition to management duties and be able to manage operations from both the FOH and BOH. This is a dynamic role for a dynamic person who can take responsibility for the cafe customers and staff and all its operations.

Job Description

The General Manager's primary role is the overall management and profitability of a Green Sage Cafe location and all its functions. The goal is to give customers the best experience possible from both the FOH and BOH and maintain the best possible standards for managing the facilities and staff while making the cafe profitable.

Responsibilities

Be trained and proficient in all FOH and BOH positions

Be trained and proficient in the use of all management and software tools provided

Ensure the cafe is open, prepared and ready for service daily

Ensure daily cafe service is efficient, accurate and guest pleasing

Ensure the cafe is cleaned, stocked, ready for the next shift and closed properly

Raise revenue by providing great service and executing marketing directives

Schedule staff and manage availability and time off within labor budgets

Ordering and receiving product within purchasing budgets

Manage cafe metrics-COGS, Labor, Service Speed, Health Score, Facilities Checks etc

Facilities, equipment and company assets kept clean, protected and in good repair

Assist with hiring new staff and oversee training of new and current staff as needed

Perform scheduled employee performance reviews

Handle store level employee issues per company HR procedures

Management of staff to adhere to agreed upon company policies and procedures

Provide direction and leadership to staff to stay on task

Requirements

Must be Manager Serve Safe Certified (or the ability to get Certification in a timely manner)

Available all days of week as needed and reliable transportation within reasonable distance from the cafe

Exhibit Leadership and Foster Teamwork

Adept in using software programs such as Excel and Google and ability to learn new software programs for restaurant management

Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, daily sales reporting

Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day and able to lift 40 lbs

Work in a fast paced cafe environment
