General Statement of Job This position performs difficult professional work analyzing transportation and traffic operations related issues. Under supervision of the Assistant Traffic Engineer, responsibilities include review and comment on Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans, site plans, engineering and construction plans, and supervises the maintenance of traffic operations within the City. May be assigned additional roles such as Multi Modal/Transit Coordinator, Bike Coordinator/Resident Relations, or Transportation Operations.
Essential Functions
Reviews new land development projects and engineering and construction plans to assure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and makes recommendations for necessary revisions to improve and/or maintain all modes of transportation. Assists in the development of long-range pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and roadway transportation facility plans. Meets with property owners, lawyers, engineers, contractors, residents, etc. to discuss projects or explain future projects as they relate to transportation. Addresses questions and comments received from the public. Updates and develops various transportation maps. Attends meetings with other agencies and boards. When assigned
Multi Modal/Transit Coordinator
duties:
Manages the City's Transportation Demand Management (TDM) and Bus Shelter Maintenance Program. Assesses transportation related fees for new and existing developments. Addresses questions and comments received regarding community transit needs. Reviews TDM Plans for new developments and TDM Annual Reports for existing developments. Meets with property managers to ensure continuation of developments' TDM Programs. Coordinates the implementation and continuation of new and existing City Transit Programs. Promotes alternative modes of transportation and the City's TMI through organizing and attending mobility-related events and the creation, development and distribution of promotional items/literature. Prepares, Updates and Maintains the City's Traffic Website. Develops GIS maps for the Traffic Division. When assigned
Bike Coordinator/Resident Relations - Neighborhood Liaison
duties:
Manages the City's Traffic Calming Policy and aids residents with implementation of the Program. Prepares Federal, State or County grant applications for development of Bike/Pedestrian/Public Transportation or related projects. Research potential grant funding sources. Manages bicycle/pedestrian planning, including sidewalk and bike lane requests. Coordinates implementation of the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. Prepares programs and presentations to encourage alternate modes of transportation. Reviews Site Plans for Public Works Review (PWR) to ensure consistency with the City's Land Development Regulations and the Engineering Design Standards Manual. Coordinates and prepares studies, reports, grants, analyses, correspondence, and recommendations relating to transportation operations. Coordinates Capital Improvement Program transportation projects. Participates in developing relevant elements of the Comprehensive Plan. Provides public presentations and reports on transportation policy recommendations and projects. Provides liaison activities support for Advisory Boards. Prepares responses to residents, businesses, and other stakeholder's traffic related concerns or complaints. Draft Resolutions for Council approval. Attends transportation meetings, seminars, and conferences. Coordinates the review of design plans provided by other agencies (Florida Department of Transportation/FDOT, Palm Beach County/PBC, School District, etc.); Reviews Special Events applications. Knowledge of the geography of the City. Skilled in the preparation of preliminary conceptual drawings of traffic operational improvements, operational and safety analysis. Ability to prepare and present technical reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, public and private agency officials, and the general public. Ability to communicate technical ideas effectively in oral and written form. Coordinates and prepares studies, reports, grants, analyses, correspondence, and recommendations relating to transportation operations. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering, traffic engineering, urban planning, transportation planning, or related field required; Six (6) months of transportation operations, planning, and design experience, or relevant experience to the essential functions required; OR Ten (10) years of relevant experience in transportation operations, planning, and design field is required in lieu of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Maintenance of Transportation (MOT) Certification preferred. Possession of a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license required.

This Paid Leave shall be used no later than September 30th of that fiscal year or it will be forfeited. These hours may not accumulate and may only be granted with the approval of the employee's supervisor. This paid leave has no cash value at separation of employment.
