Description: The Career-Technical Planning District Consultant will promote equitable access to career-technical education for students with disabilities, as well as assist school districts in the provision of special education and related services in the context of career-technical education. The Consultant will provide coaching, professional learning, and technical assistance to career-technical planning districts in SST Region 3.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A master's degree in the area for which an employee has primary responsibility (i.e., education, special education, early childhood education, education administration, or an appropriate related field or evidence of equivalency); 2. Three to five years of successful classroom teaching, school improvement planning, special education administration, career-technical administration, or related experience; a license appropriate to the individual's profession (special education administration, general education, intervention specialist). 3. Candidates will demonstrate:

? Knowledge of planning processes, including the use of strategic problem-solving; ? Effective coaching and consultation skills in a school or district setting; ? Ability to implement and monitor improvement strategies; ? Ability to deliver high-quality professional learning and technical assistance;

4. Candidates shall demonstrate expertise and/or significant leadership experience in at least two of the following areas as they relate to the identified specific areas of work to which they are assigned:

? Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA); ? Data analysis skills, including data-based decision-making and a thorough understanding of Ohio's accountability system; ? Effective evidence-based processes and instructional practices, including development and implementation of academic and behavior supports and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support; ? Experience in school administration; or ? Specially designed instruction and provision of free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment (special education)

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

District and School-Level Work ? Serve as SST team member of support at District Leadership Teams, Building Leadership Teams, and Teacher-Based Teams when related to career-technical education services for students with disabilities. ? Collect and review career-technical pathway data to identify professional learning and technical assistance needs to increase the capacity of career-technical education personnel to provide special education services and high-quality instruction to students with disabilities. ? Develop and provide differentiated and tiered information, professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance to career-technical center personnel based on identified district and/or regional needs to increase the capacity of career-technical center personnel to provide special education services to students with disabilities. ? Develop and facilitate professional learning and technical assistance on a "self-review" of the school/district's capacity to provide special education services to students with disabilities in career-technical education. State and Regional-Level Work ? Attend and inform regional and state-level networking meetings and conferences, as applicable. ? Coordinate regional collaborative networks with the ESC of Northeast that address special education needs in career-technical education.

SALARY: Determined by education and experience
