JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an energetic Orderly for day shift with no weekends & no nights.
The Orderly is responsible for assisting as directed by the nursing personnel in the Pre-operative, PACU and Operating Room areas. The Orderly will assist the Materials Manager with ordering and stocking of supplies. Previous experience in medical setting preferred. Ability to multi task is important.
Requires ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, occasional overhead and low reaching, and to exert force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assist in patient transport and positioning as directed.
Assist as directed by OR RNs and Scrub tech with set-up, cleaning and turnover of rooms including terminal cleaning.
Assist in patient transport and positioning as directed.
Assist in restocking rooms and supplies as directed by Operating Room Charge Nurse.
Assist in general housekeeping activities in pre-op and PACU areas as directed by the nursing staff.
Assist materials manager with inventory management, ordering, receiving and putting away supplies.
Maintains positive and proactive interpersonal relationships with physicians, patients and center staff.
Adheres to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties.
Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC BUILDING MAINTENANCE
Required Skills Required Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Current BLS certification
Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
Patient Interviewing skills
Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
Knowledge and understanding of basic building maintenance
Qualifications: PRESCHOOL TEACHER REQUIRED SKILLS & EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required
Childhood Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred
Previous experience as a Preschool Teacher or Caregiver preferred
High level of flexibility and willingness to work all shifts
Must be at least 18 years old
