Kauhale Housing Custodian
on Maui to help create safe and supportive housing for adults living with mental health challenges.
In this vital role, you'll ensure our facilities are clean, organized, and in good repair-so residents can focus on recovery and independence.
Kauhale Housing Custodian Responsibilities: Daily Cleaning:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum hallways, corridors, offices, and common areas. Sanitation:
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, dining spaces, and shared areas; restock soap, paper towels, and supplies. Trash Removal:
Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the facility. Maintenance Support:
Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, cleaning air filters, and reporting maintenance needs. Special Projects:
Assist with stripping, waxing, and buffing floors; hose down driveways and outdoor areas. Team Collaboration:
Communicate with the Program Director or Manager to track inventory, coordinate repairs, and maintain safety standards. Other Duties:
Complete additional custodial and facility support tasks as assigned. Kauhale Housing Custodian Requirements:
Minimum : High school diploma or equivalent Preferred : Coursework in psychology, social work, or human development; or experience in behavioral health or human services Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, emotional tolerance under stress, and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting Certifications
(required upon hire or annually): CPR, First Aid, TB Clearance Other Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
