YOU MUST LIVE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA TO BE CONSIDERED This is an in-person job Saturdays and weekday afternoons. About Us: Since2018 the Academy of Design has been an incubator for the next generation of designers. We believe in inspiring and nurturing the creativity in each child through the process of design. Our program introduces kids ages 8-13 to the basics of fashion design, from mood boards, to sketching, to fabric selection, to sewing and fitting. We are proud of the inclusive and fun environment we have created. Key Responsibilities: Understand and engineer a garment from a tech sketch Utilize a library of blocks to build a unique garment Teach basic machine sewing and construction Provide positive support and guidance to help students realize their vision. Qualifications: MUST know how to sew well MUST enjoy working with kids Experience in fashion design or retail is a plus Previous teaching experience is a plus Why Join Us?
