About the Role
The Master File Maintenance Coordinator is an integral part of Latham’s Billing team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timekeeper and client matter master billing files at the firm, while opening new client matters and validates Conflicts data for accuracy and completeness, and following up for missing or incomplete data . This role will be located in either our Global Services Office in Los Angeles, Austin, San Diego, Orange County, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
Creating new timekeepers set-ups and validating complex rate logic for each timekeeper, coordinating new timekeeper set-ups for practice office Human Resources Managers regarding PCN paperwork, and follow-up items
Verifying and opening all master billing file set-ups including billing rates and exception rate hierarchies, and providing guidance to all billing staff regarding all client matter and timekeeper master file set-ups
Maintaining timekeeper master file records including budgets, partner promotions, associate progression and secondments, tracking of year academy attendance, leave of absence information, and terminations
Preparing and maintains complex rate logic schedules included in the firm’s annual rates book
Confirming client arrangements for special rate needs
Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting principles
Possess the ability to comprehend and accurately perform mathematical functions
Exhibit analytical skills to correctly comprehend and communicate data
And have:
A High School diploma or equivalent, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in legal billing or billing audit within a professional services organization
Prior experience with 3E and PeopleSoft system, preferably
