Motor Technician

to work at our

Charleroi, PA Facility . Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide. Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world. We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform motor wash outs

Successfully able to perform Differential Pressure test on motors

Must be familiar with operation of a heating torch

Proficient operational and maintenance knowledge of the Torque Machine within 6 months

Be able to successfully disassemble motors with minimal supervision

Ability to fill out Technician part of the Disassembly QC paperwork with a high degree of accuracy

Ability to write motor serial number, date and hours on outer housings and mandrels

Responsible for writing motor serial number, customer, rig and date on all parts of suspected motor failures

Ability to keep console and surrounding area clean and clear of debris

Ability to successfully train Motor Technician Trainee(s)

Responsible for leading productivity on the Torque Machine as far as output of motors assembled/disassembled per weekly quotas

Responsible for actively improving our quality performance and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) by: not passing a defect or non-conformance downstream and fully understanding the process, diligently following and executing documented procedures to meet our quality objectives

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to identify all motor parts by name

Must be able to learn all part names

Ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to new environments

Ability to use logic to solve problems with effective solutions

Ability to work in a fast paced and results driven environment

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy

Ability to read, communicate and understand the English language

Education, Experience & Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Must be available to be on call and work overtime as needed

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous motor experience
