DESIGN MANAGER (TELECOM)

Location: Schaumburg Hybrid Schedule

The Design Manager oversees deliverables, directs staff as needed, and works closely with Project Managers to ensure our client's design intentions are captured and delivered on schedule and budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ownership of understanding jurisdictional requirements, contractual scopes of work, our internal team's ability, necessary mentorship, and driving the team to meet our client commitments while working with the project budget. Independently create industry-related site designs from field investigations, original drawings, satellite images or other internet software. Oversee and procure the services of outside vendors. Understand good construction practices and basic architectural, electrical & grounding design. Communicate design requirements to engineering, design and drafting teams. Research and understand client standards, construction limitations, and internal capabilities. Create and maintain spreadsheets/project trackers to ensure on-time deliverables within budget. Lead team of drafters to assemble design packages from start to finish, including internal & external QA/QC process. Work closely with EOR to ensure quality work product and service. Reviews architectural contract documents, drawings and specifications for multiple projects. Ensures that drawings are checked, approved, and filed in accordance with the company quality system.

Strong organizational, written, and communication skills. Plan review & building inspections. bility to multitask and meet deadlines. bility to work in a team-based environment, a fast-paced organization, as well as independently. Proven ability to provide technical assistance and mentorship. Self-driven personality with a desire for team success. Detail-oriented, able to maintain quality control for all outgoing products. Willing and able to travel to project sites on successive days. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

Expert level experience using Microsoft Office suite & Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files), digital photographs (JPEG files). Proficient with AutoCAD. Experience with Sitetracker is a plus. Knowledge of databases and the process of up/downloading data.

Education and Experience Required

BA or BS Degree in Architecture or BS Degree in Engineering, or years of experience in industry-related design or construction. dvanced knowledge in the following disciplines and standards: rchitectural, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical. 5 - 10 yrs. Telecom design & site development experience. 1 - 3 yrs. Team Oversight.
