Fall 2025 Multimedia & Photography Intern
The International Institute of New England is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving refugees and immigrants in Boston, MA, Lowell, MA, and Manchester, NH. The Institute offers internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates with demonstrated interest or experience in supporting refugee, asylee, and immigrant populations. Each internship includes an educational component, through which interns contextualize their experience and reflect on their service.
All internships are unpaid and correspond roughly with the US semester system: Fall Internship: September through December 2025.
First consideration is given to applicants that can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above. Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of whether their schedule fits the semester system; IINE makes exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Slots fill quickly and candidates are encouraged to apply earlier than the requested date above.
Please note that this internship will be a hybrid format, meaning that some in-person hours at our Boston, MA. office are required.
Overview
The Multimedia Intern will work with IINE's Marketing and Communications team to create and execute multimedia projects that illustrate IINE's work. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating videos, photos, and other multimedia content that can be repurposed for fundraising events, social media, emails, and more! This role will be instrumental in increasing IINE's digital footprint.
Reports to: Marketing Coordinator Responsibilities
Capture and edit video, photo, and audio content for both internal and external use Assist with drafting and planning social media content Assemble materials for donor meetings and tabling events Identify opportunities to apply creative expertise and add value to projects Support the marketing team in event promotion and other activities as needed Required Skills & Abilities
Interest in international, refugee, asylee, and immigrant issues Passion for marketing, communications, and fundraising Ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment Strong oral and written communication skills Highly organized with great attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities quickly Professionalism, discretion, and maturity when handling confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite applications Education & Experience
High School Diploma or higher Experience working as part of a team Experience in graphic design, photography, and video production Experience with social media scheduling software (preferred, but not required)
