POSITION SUMMARY This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Housekeeping Staff are vital to the success of the organization by creating a safe and healthy environment for all. This position will clean and sanitize assigned areas, including mopping, dusting and trash removal. This team member may also be responsible for window washing, meeting set up, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities. This position will be expected to support all facility branches.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUTH PROTECTION The YMCA of Rock River Valley has a responsibility to provide safe and secure programs and services for our community. The YMCA is a leader in child abuse prevention to support the safety of children in our care. You'll support the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention by: Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor. Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children. Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor. Complete all child abuse prevention training as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed. Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift. Reports incidents and hazardous conditions to Branch Executive Director. Replaces soap, paper towels and other supplies. Sets up furniture for events. Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming. Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly. Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.

QUALIFICATIONS

Six months or more of related experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Ability to report and record maintenance requests. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use. CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days. Praesidium Academy trainings. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations. Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others. SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

2 Positions SwedishAmerican Riverfront YMCA Part Time, Non-Exempt Available to sub Friday - Monday, hours may vary 12 - 15 hours per month $15.00 per hour
