The Web Merchandiser is responsible for managing the online retail presence of the company. This role involves overseeing the planning, development, and execution of online merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability. The Web Merchant collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless online shopping experience for customers while driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
Curate and organize the product assortment on a variety of e-commerce websites, ensuring optimal visibility, discoverability, and cross-selling opportunities. Develop and implement strategies to enhance visual appeal and user experience of the website. Optimize product imagery, descriptions, and attributes to provide accurate and compelling representations of the merchandise. Lead the planning and execution of online catalog improvements including creating and optimizing storefront category structures, product display page improvements, and developing engaging landing pages. Manage, plan, and execute promotional merchandising, sales events, and seasonal initiatives to drive customer engagement and sales. Collaborate with marketing and web development teams to enhance customer shopping experience with new features and functionality. Monitor and analyze storefront analytics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to enhance search rankings and increase organic traffic. Analyze website analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of merchandising efforts. Monitor and manage new product listings, inventory levels, pricing, and reviews on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. Film and edit engaging visual content for social media posts, including short videos, GIFs, and product demos. Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to develop compelling product-based content for social channels Ensure that all content adheres to brand guidelines, maintains high-quality standards, and resonates with the target audience. Maintain punctuality and regular and reliable attendance. Participating in fostering an organizational culture that values innovation, promotes inclusion, and inspires excellence in the work environment. Protect and maintain the confidentiality of company trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information including, without limitation, pricing information and sales data. Maintain a positive and productive work environment. Complete projects and assignments on time. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, Merchandising, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 2+ years of experience in web merchandising, ecommerce, or online retail. Strong analytical skills with experience using data analytics tools (Google Analytics, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of SEO, digital marketing, and conversion rate optimization (CRO). Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills. Understanding of website design principles, user experience (UX) principles, and customer journey mapping. Proficient in using content management systems (CMS) and e-commerce platforms such as Shopify Creative mindset with a strong attention to detail and ability to think strategically. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with various teams.
Compensation:
Starting at $56,000 per year
