SUMMARY

Accountable for managing plant operations activities across multiple departments to ensure the production of products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, innovation and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies. Implements new capital projects and promotes improvement through sustaining behaviors, operating with discipline and rigor, and contributing to the continual improvement of the entire team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for a variety of support and service functions including:

Assist in coordinating the operations of the plant across departments to maximize plant efficiency

Cross trained in the operation of other departments to provide additional resources as needed to accomplish plant goals.

Implement, monitor, and manage SOP’s across the plant

Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards and sanitation practices

Assist with capital project planning and execution

Assist in the controlling of costs of production, quality, and sanitation, and maintenance

Assist in production scheduling and monitoring of production volumes versus plan

Motivate and enhance skills of team members in all areas

Co‐lead Continuous Improvement initiatives in the plant

Analyze operations at the floor level to identify areas of improvement and develop processes to positively impact operations capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS to

S. Degree in Business, Operations, or Technical discipline

Minimum 3‐5 years operations experience in manufacturing, preferably producing food and/baking/blending technology

Ability to lead/supervise people and implement a Continuous Improvement mindset

Experience with Lean Manufacturing desired

Ability to generate/write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Effective in coaching teams in driving results through Root Cause Analysis or other proven methods

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Food industrial experience in operations role

The ability to organize, manage and direct the activities of others

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to write, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to focus. Some employees will operate fork lifts and other motorized equipment. Employee will be in close proximity to moving, rotating, and/or motorized equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The primary work environment is a bulk food manufacturing environment. Daily operations may expose the employee to machinery, airborne particles, dust, and heat. Allergens are present throughout the plant and processes including but not limited to wheat based products, soy products, dairy products, MSG, and other common allergens. Hearing protection is required in certain areas of the plant.

The Company is committed to producing and delivering defect-free products. To ensure this, all employees are required to be trained on and adhere to the Good Manufacturing Policies set forth by the Company as they pertain to personnel practices, equipment, and facilities. It is also vital that all employees be aware of the work environment and when possible, prevent accidental or intentional adulteration of products produced at this facility. As a result any employee has a right to put product on hold if they have a concern. At the plant level, only the Quality Assurance Manager and General Manager have the authority to release product on hold.
