ion Philanthropy is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Engagement Specialist to join our team and our partnership with Stony Brook University. You will play a vital role in cultivating and strengthening relationships with alumni, donors, and friends of the university. As an Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for engaging, stewarding, and cultivating donors through proactive outreach and exceptional customer service. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of students and the future of the university.
Responsibilities
Donor Engagement and Stewardship Conduct proactive outbound communication with alumni and donors through phone, email, text, and chat to build and strengthen relationships and increase their engagement with Stony Brook. Steward existing donors by expressing gratitude, providing personalized updates on university initiatives, and acknowledging their contributions. Cultivate potential donors by sharing compelling stories and demonstrating the impact of their support. Fundraising and Cultivation
Identify and qualify potential donors through research and targeted outreach. Develop and implement strategies to increase donor engagement and philanthropic support. Solicit donations to support university programs, scholarships, and strategic initiatives. Inbound Customer Service
Provide exceptional customer service to alumni, donors, and friends of the university through various communication channels. Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, concerns, and requests. Resolve issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring a positive donor experience. Maintain accurate records of all contact and interactions. Data Management and Reporting
Accurately record and update donor information in the CRM database. Generate reports on outreach activities and performance metrics. Utilize data to inform strategic decision-making and improve engagement strategies. Collaboration and Teamwork
Collaborate with other members of the development team to achieve fundraising goals. Participate in team meetings and training sessions. Represent the university with professionalism and enthusiasm. Qualifications
2+ years of experience in sales, fundraising, customer service, or a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Ability to build rapport and connect with diverse individuals. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant technology. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A genuine passion for higher education and philanthropy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Salary & Benefits
Maximum annual salary of $70,000 (commensurate with experience) Health, dental and vision benefits, 401K Opportunity to play a critical role in an industry-leading project in higher education
