Field Engineer Opportunity

Job Title: HPE Hardware and Software Infrastructure Specialist Schedule: Schedule TBD. During the 16-week training period, hours will be Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Pay: Hourly rate + mileage reimbursement at $0.70/mile. Note: There is a 16-week training program once hired. Candidate Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have your own transportation, insurance, and a valid drivers license. Must be willing to travel from customer to customer as necessary. Mileage, tolls, and parking (if any) will be reimbursed using Federal rates. This does not cover parking tickets or other violations. Must be able to work overtime during installation or rack/stack events. Must be able to work weekends with advanced notice due to customer installation schedules. Job Responsibilities
Resolve HPE hardware and software infrastructure issues (servers, network, security, etc.) using systems analysis techniques and procedures in support of HPE customers data centers. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within IT infrastructure including HPE Enterprise systems, servers, storage, and networking. Understand Data Center IT Operations environment and use software tools to perform day-to-day functions and troubleshooting. Perform high volume/low impact tasks efficiently and knowledgeably. Provide installation and break/fix support including component replacement, hardware troubleshooting, and operating system installation. Proficiently perform data center support tasks with minimal guidance. Demonstrate hands-on practical knowledge of systems and policies. Manage operational tasks including resolving escalations and clearing blocking issues to enable continued delivery of datacenter support activities. Requirements
Basic understanding of storage theory, server layout, and network concepts. Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow procedures for component level repairs using ESD best practices. Good understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job. Familiarity with different computer applications and ability to navigate software tools as required. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Organizational skills and ability to document daily activities. Successful communication and working relationship with management and peers at all levels. Teamwork and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work outside of standard business hours and weekends. Willingness to travel for out-of-state projects. Education and Other Requirements
Experience with pallet jack and data center server lifting tools is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to operate manual and power hand tools. 3-5 years of technical experience and an Associates Degree or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience.
