Job Summary
The
Director of Market Development
is the strategic and technical leader for the
Generator Market
and is responsible for overall sales and profit growth by market through execution of the market development process and strategic support of the sales and service team.
Essential Job Functions
The
Director of Market Development
serves as the subject matter expert for customer application engineering with an ability to communicate how our products and services can satisfy customer requirements Lead the company's product line development (R&D) including production capability and capacity development, as well supply chain development for key products and part families Develop and manage key supply chain relationships and determine source vs make strategy for key products / part families Develop and maintain a market plan that enables leaders to share in the vision for market growth strategy Identify and support strategic growth opportunities Perform strategic financial review for sales, gross profit, and quote (win/loss) trends Create a marketing plan and lead the development of marketing content Develop related internal training documents for the market sales team. Leading Continuous Improvement Projects Other duties as assigned Requirements
BS in Engineering or other technical degree and/or an equivalent amount of education and experience Ten years' experience in technical sales with direct account management or product line management Executive level customer-facing experience: leading through customer satisfaction and driving sales Preferred Requirements:
Electrical background preferred; familiarity with generators and/or industrial product sales Experienced Internal influencer: ability to influence all levels of the organization, lead an internal team, lead peer to peer change management Project management experience, strongly preferred Supervisory Responsibilities:
Two direct reports (Application Engineer, Strategic Account Manager)
Travel:
30% (1-2 weeks/month domestically / 1 week/Quarter Internationally)
