Job Summary
The Auburn University Office of Advancement is excited to begin the search for a Auburn Giving Officer!
The Auburn Giving Officer builds relationships with prospective donors and conducts in-person discovery visits to assess their philanthropic interests and connects them with areas of Auburn University that align with their interests. Works to build Auburn Advancement's major gift pipeline through qualifying prospects and referring them to appropriate areas, ultimately moving them towards investment in the university. Collaborates across all areas of Auburn Advancement and Auburn University, while fostering personal connections and individual-level understanding to increase affinity and investment. Assesses patterns across portfolio interactions to refine outreach and qualification cultivation, aiming to enhance fundraising outcomes. Develops portfolio management plans, personalized messaging, and individualized giving plans, and collaborates with aligned teams to drive investment and affinity for Auburn University.
The nature of this role is highly externally focused, requiring frequent travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours, and is therefore expected to operate with high-levels of autonomy
Essential Functions Your Responsibilities as an Auburn Giving Officer:
Purpose: Play a crucial role in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts ($25,000+) to support Auburn University's mission. Work with clearly defined weekly, monthly, and annual goals for qualification visits and qualifying major gift prospects. Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration by building cooperative partnerships with colleagues in Advancement and other university departments. Organize information to identify potential fundraising opportunities and support decision making and planning related to prospective donors. Innovation: Engage in innovative prospecting activities through phone calls, emails, texts, and events to identify potential donors. Build Advancement's major gift pipeline by determining if visited prospects should be further cultivated for major gifts. For prospects not ready for major gifts, make referrals to appropriate areas for further engagement or solicitation. Production: Conduct in-person qualification visits with prospects, evaluating their interest in philanthropic giving. Travel to meet individuals, share information about engineering's programs and initiatives, and address their questions to inform future fundraising efforts. Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoints to maintain meaningful connections with donors.
