Provide timely diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance of industrial equipment at client sites located throughout the United States.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Essential Functions

Identify problems, disassemble, repair and replace defective parts; reassemble and test machine for proper operation utilizing various electrical test equipment and hand tools.

Train customers on proper equipment usage and maintenance

Provide feedback for PARs to document defects found in the field and assist quality control.

Assist with the generation of reports with regard to the research and development of field problems and possible up-grades to existing equipment.

Assist with the generation and development of forms for tracking expenses, planned maintenance reports and training guides.

Punctuality and attendance, since the services to be provided to the customer can only be performed at the customer site and agreements with the customer's scheduling

Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and system diagnostics at customer location, reporting findings and recommendations for repairs to customers.

Generate, place, and track orders for repair parts and other supplies as required for both warranty and non-warranty repairs.

When required, provides remote support to customers via phone, email, or text

Maintain detailed service records and reports for all completed work

Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and internal teams to provide timely updates on service activities, issue resolution, and product improvement opportunities.

Assist with special products as required.

Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

Sitting, Walking, Climbing, Stooping or Crouching, Grasping, Talking, Hearing.

Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as 20 feet or more along with the ability to bring objects into sharp focus as well as judge distance and space relationships.

Light Work - exert up to 5 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:

Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

May be exposed to disagreeable conditions when on customer factory floor POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education:

High school diploma or GED; technical degree or trade school certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar field.

Qualifications & Requirements

Strong Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions.

Requires a well-organized individual.

Experience with PLCs, servo systems, and industrial controls (preferred)

Willingness to travel (90%) and work flexible hours as needed

Ability to independently coordinate and book travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, and rental vehicles, while adhering to company travel policies.

Must be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and passport.

Note: Sunnen is currently searching for two technicians. One in the St. Louis area and one in the Chicago area within one hour of an airport for work travel.
