Description
Parieseault is seeking and experienced and collaborative Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, which include material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bid proposals. Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates. Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents. Prepare detailed take-offs of materials and detailed labor estimates using person-hours, crews, and equipment. Develop and submit complete bid packages in accordance with client timelines and project requirements. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing, including a detailed written scope of work, logistics, etc. to ensure all bids encompass the same work. Follow up with subcontractors and suppliers on bid intentions in a timely manner. Collect and organize bid documents (plans, specifications, etc.). Catalogue subcontractor and supplier information for each project. Update subcontractor and supplier information as needed. Prepare and create bid leveling sheets to compare vendor proposals, analyzing cost, scope, and schedule to ensure alignment with project requirements and support informed decision-making. Prepare RFI's to the design team. Manage the prequalification process for the hiring of subcontractors. Maintain historical cost data to support pricing strategies and decision making. Recommend value engineering and cost saving alternatives during project planning. Work closely with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and clients during the pre-construction phases - general conditions study, procurement schedule, logistics, etc. Attend job walk throughs, pre-bid meetings, and proposal reviews as needed. Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, aligned to the needs of the organization, in order to ensure sufficient workforce capacity to meet project needs. Present information and proposals effectively to clients based on their needs and preferences. Assess potential project risks and advise on mitigation strategies. Review historical cost data and ensure compliance with scope of work. Ensure all estimates adhere to local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
