Purpose Statement:
The Maintenance Technician will ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently. Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement. Perform preventive building maintenance, purchase supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to complete projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair
Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
Framing, operate machines, and operate a forklift.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to perform tasks that are repetitive.
0-1 yr.
Bilingual English – Spanish
Excellent communication skills
Can perform basic mechanical applications.
Ability to speak and read English.
Problem solving skills.
Critical thinking
Organizational skills
Must be able to work varied shifts.
Must be able to work approved overtime.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. regularly.
Must wear personal protective equipment.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials (must be able to climb a ladder)
Repetitive motion.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
