Ashcraft & Gerel, a growing personal injury law firm with a 70-year legacy, is looking for a

Human Resource Generalist

to join our highly reputable team in our downtown Charleston office. The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and leader of change. You will help plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Provides oversight of the Annual Performance Review process, conducts exit interviews, and employee satisfaction surveys Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; employee retention; productivity, recognition, and training and development. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP a plus Working knowledge of MS Office, payroll software, HRIS and other databases Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and train Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and exercise a high level of confidentiality Highly organized and self-motivated
