BCS Consultants (BCS) is an audiovisual system, low-voltage cabling, and security solutions installer based in Irvine, California. BCS provides audiovisual integration services ranging from design-build consulting through project planning to post installation training and support.
We are looking for a self-motivated, EXPERIENCED, detail-oriented, ambitious team player to join our growing team as a Lead Cable Technician with lots of room for growth! The Lead Cable Tech MUST HAVE experience with AV, security surveillance and access control solutions. The Lead Cable Tech will be highly-skilled in the installation of advanced professional audio, video and video conferencing solutions in the audio-visual commercial integration industry. Professionalism with clients, taking pride in your work, and being a team player are additional MUSTS.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Installing new low-voltage, A/V and fiber optic cabling client job sites (including renovations and new construction in office and warehouse environments)
Performing site surveys for clients and Sales Department for project bid opportunities
Providing material and labor estimates for internal Sales Department
Assist in design and configuration of server room/rack equipment environments
Troubleshoot miscellaneous cabling and A/V issues
Installation of other items, such as: access points, time clocks, paging equipment, etc.
Other items as needed
What skills you need to succeed:
MUST have a working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Detail-oriented, organized and consistent workflow
Have a positive attitude and superior interpersonal skills for communication with colleagues and clients
Ability to multitask
Be open to learning.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience with cabling in the field
Experienced with installing and troubleshooting: Category 5e, Category 6 & 6a, feed pair cables, fiber optic cabling, and rack equipment
Ability to troubleshoot miscellaneous cabling issues (such as faulty wiring or jacks at the station-side, patch-panel side, and demarcation locations)
Clear communication skills (verbal and written), good organizational, documentation and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Professional in appearance and ability to work with clients in the field
Ability to lift 80 pounds
Experience driving scissor and/or boom lifts
Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and insurable
Good computer skills
Experience with reading blue prints/building plans
Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally to meet client deadlines (including: early mornings or late nights or overnight visits)
It’s a PLUS if you have…
Panduit, Corning, or Systimax certifications
Boom and/or scissor lift certifications
Cable certification experience (with tools such as Fluke)
Audio-visual installation experience
Paging system installation experience
