Position Summary : Responsible for checking and inspecting incoming materials, in process goods, and finished products to ensure quality parts are produced to customer print, within established production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems.
Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased parts, and finished materials and products, ensuring conformance to specifications, recognize non-conforming parts.
Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit, and appearance. Verify paperwork has proper sign-offs.
Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, material certs, damage reports, return report and re-work orders.
Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
Communicate with plant supervision and sales noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
Run calibration reports and calibrate in house tools.
Monitors work assignments and communicates any concerns with supervisor.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or GED and 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in a machining or fabrication environment.
Physical Demands : The employee is regularly required to stand or walk for extended periods of time. Lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally maneuver through pushing or pulling greater than 50 pounds. Regular reaching overhead and at or below shoulder level, with gross and fine manipulation with hands and fingers. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
