This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a driven development professional ready to shape and elevate a dynamic fundraising program. You'll spearhead all development strategies, working closely with executive leadership and the board to build long-term donor relationships, drive philanthropic engagement, and scale fundraising efforts. Accountabilities:
Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy in partnership with executive leadership and the board. Oversee all aspects of annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants, planned giving, and donor stewardship. Develop and implement creative fundraising campaigns, philanthropic events, and prospect engagement strategies to increase donor base and revenue. Manage the integration of development communications into broader organizational messaging in collaboration with the communications team. Supervise data tracking systems and staff involved in gift processing and donor database management. Provide regular reports and fundraising insights to the CEO and board, contributing to informed strategic planning. Mentor and empower a high-performing development team and external contractors. Guide board members in fundraising best practices and increase board engagement in donor cultivation. Align fundraising goals with budget planning and organizational growth objectives. Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven record of securing high five- and six-figure gifts. Experience in or familiarity with the medical, scientific, or genetics sectors is highly desired. Demonstrated leadership in working with executive teams and board members to drive strategic philanthropy. Strong background in donor stewardship, grant writing, planned giving, and development operations. Outstanding communication, writing, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in donor management systems (iMIS experience is a plus). Strategic thinker with strong project management skills and an ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment. Ability to manage competing deadlines and lead cross-functional teams. Sound financial planning capabilities and comfort with budget oversight. Professional presence, strong work ethic, and a passion for mission-driven work. Benefits
