Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled
Assistant Maintenance Technician
to support the upkeep and maintenance of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will assist in performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks, ensuring the property is safe, clean, and functioning properly for all residents. This is a hands-on role that requires technical skills, physical ability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in daily maintenance operations including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry tasks Respond promptly to resident service requests and work orders Help prepare apartments for new residents by completing repairs, painting, and cleaning as needed Perform routine property inspections and preventative maintenance Assist in maintaining building exteriors, grounds, and common areas (e.g., trash removal, pressure washing, snow removal, etc.) Support emergency maintenance efforts, including after-hours calls if scheduled Monitor and maintain maintenance supply inventory and tools Follow all safety procedures and comply with property policies and regulations Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and management staff Qualifications:
Prior maintenance experience in an apartment, residential, or commercial setting preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repair Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic Good communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Willingness to participate in on-call rotation if required
