Job Summary:

NOTE: This position can be remote for the right, qualified candidate.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CONSTRUCTION Estimator with experience in commercial and/or civil construction projects. The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications, project plans, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for projects. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

Review project proposals and plans to determine the scope and pricing for materials, subcontractors, equipment, and labor.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to determine project requirements and constraints.

Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns using estimating software and Excel.

Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

Prepare and present bid proposals and cost estimates to management or clients.

Track and maintain records of historical cost data for use in future estimates.

Identify potential cost-saving strategies and value engineering options.

Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.

Ensure estimates align with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3–5+ years of experience in commercial and/or civil construction estimating.

Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and building codes.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, or similar).

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools.

Excellent math, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
