ASSISTANT SOURCING MANAGER - FURNITURE

SAUSALITO, CA

Summary of Role:

The Assistant Sourcing Manager - Furniture is part of the Serena & Lily Sourcing team. Responsible for supporting the department's end-to-end sourcing operations from concept to launch. This role involves working closely with external and internal teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective development and execution of products while maintaining quality standards. This role is responsible for assisting in vendor management, calendar adherence, and is solution-oriented in driving business results.

Assistant Sourcing Manager assists in executing basic sourcing strategies under supervision. There is an emphasis on program(s) and vendor management from product development to PO placement. This role requires managing timelines and deadlines closely and with clear communication and cross functional collaboration. This role supports the sourcing manager with administrative and operational tasks as an individual contributor.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily communication with agents and vendors, and internal cross functional teams Develop and monitor pre-production activities (sample development, quotes, packaging, etc) to ensure all are completed in a timely manner Assists in negotiating favorable costs based on targets provided by Merchant team and effectively ensuring design and materials are aligned to either hit first cost target or make adjustments based on design and material direction In partnership with manager, analyze first costs against target costs and target IMU Track and research damage and defective returns, communicate issues to vendors and work on obtaining Corrective Action Plans Assist in cost tracking - increases, savings, avoidance & chargebacks Management of development samples: knowledge of timelines for shipment and managing the shipment from overseas to warehouse receiving and on to headquarters Work with logistics team for product classification and trouble shoot any missing shipment documentation Collect all Product Information, Assembly Instructions for new developments. Collaborate with the QA team when issues arise In partnership with manager, consult with QA/compliance to assess risk to failures and provide recommendations Liaison with agents/vendors and compliance to ensure that performance and transit testing is completed and testing standards are met New development production tracking - provide cross functional partners with updates on push-outs, delays Support manager with internal teams on reviewing returns-develop plans for damage or quality issue reductions. Identify inferior quality source and chargeback Support furniture team with material research and development by country Develop an understanding of design intent and aesthetic requirements Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency Systems & Administrative support:

Customer Care & Design shop support - answering Jira tickets, review Slack for product issues/returns Vendor record maintenance New vendor set up & Vendor Operations Manual follow up REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent 1-2 years' experience in sourcing or related retail role Self-starter, resourceful, and the ability to shift priorities in support of the business Demonstrates high level of organization and can quickly reprioritize based on the needs of the business Detail oriented and driven by deadlines and high sense of urgency Effective communicator with internal and external parties, must have the ability to work in/with cross functional teams Proactive approach to problem solving, adapt quickly to changes Strong analytical skills Excellent written and verbal skills Curiosity and a desire to learn Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Flexible work environment: 3 days in the office required, more if needed COMPENSATION:

$75-80k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills. Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance should they choose to participate in Serena & Lily's benefits. Employees can enroll in our company's 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full-time employees accrue twenty-one days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
