FOOD & BEVERAGE - BARTENDER (Year Round Full-Time or Part-Time Positions)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Prepare drinks for dining room waiters, cocktail servers, and guests seated at bar. Must perform all side work related to this service. Implement the use of prescribed bar controls, prescribed service techniques, ordering procedures and exhibit high levels of hospitality, courtesy, and tact. Must have extensive knowledge of drink recipes and wines. Handle various methods of payment for bar guests and servers if necessary and accounting responsibilities if required.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 21 years of age. Must be able to maintain high levels of hospitality, courtesy and tact under pressure in a noisy crowded atmosphere. Must have a good working knowledge of mixing drinks, drink recipes, and service techniques. Must have knowledge of currant ABC laws (TIPS program certification preferred) and bar control and adhere to these. Must have a clean and neat appearance and conform to uniform regulations. Must be able to carry out bartending duties accurately under noisy, crowded conditions. Good communication and organizational skills necessary. Must be capable of doing deposit accurately and efficiently. Dependable transportation and the ability to work a flexible schedule are required -weekends, holidays, evenings. Prior food and beverage experience required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and carry 25-40 pounds. Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods, up to an entire shift. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to work in noisy, crowded environments with changing lighting and temperatures. SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare and serve drinks for bar guests, cocktail servers dinning room waiters. Must use prescribed bar controls and company policies consistently. Must maintain inventory levels in bar of beer, wine and liquor by correctly completing requisition forms at the end of each shift. Must maintain clean, neat, orderly bar areas at all times including, sinks, counters, coolers, service areas etc. Must wash glassware correctly. Must know currant ABC laws and adhere to these including checking for proper identification for anyone appearing to under the age of 30. Assist manager with bar inventory. Prep before shift and stock bar items as prescribed. Must know drink pricing system in order to monitor server checks efficiently. Must prepare deposit at end of shift including servers when appropriate. Where necessary, collect server financial reports, guest checks and collect proper monies from all. Must be able to do this correctly and efficiently. Offer lounge cocktail and food service when necessary. Assist other bartenders, servers as necessary. Execute effective use/management of company resources.
