Job Overview
Fairview is looking for a Housekeeping Aide at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN!. This is a full time opportunity and is benefit eligible! The schedule is 80 hours per a 2-week pay period on the
evening
shift from
4:00pm - 12:30am.
Summary:
The Housekeeping Aide performs cleaning duties as assigned to keep the facility orderly, attractive, clean and sanitary.
Responsibilities
Performs cleaning assignments per department procedures and protocols
Uses proper chemical dilution rations
Follows infection control practices and procedures
Follows proper procedure for assigned area
Completes assignments in a timely manner
Uses proper equipment and supplies for task
Replenishes supplies
Properly handles soiled and clean linens in assigned areas
Properly handles and disposes of biohazardous and non-biohazardous waste
Uses good body mechanics
Uses safe work practices i.e. floor signs, use of gloves, follow hazard signs/symbols
Remains flexible to change assignments as needed
Contributes process improvement ideas/suggestions
Properly documents work assignments
Demonstrates proper emergency and security response
Takes immediate action as required to assist with emergency codes
Unlocks and secures access to building as directed
Cleans emergency spills as needed
Demonstrates proper use and care of equipment
Uses proper equipment for assignment/task
Properly cares for equipment and acts for preventive maintenance
Reports malfunctioning equipment
Uses safety precautions
Customer Service
Uses appropriate verbal and nonverbal greetings
Demonstrates a willing and helpful attitude
Demonstrates respect for customer's need for privacy
Performs activities in a respectful, courteous, and responsive manner
Transports furniture and equipment as requested
Reports mechanical failures or negative conditions to appropriate supervisor
Interpersonal Relations with Healthcare Team
Offers and values constructive criticism
Resolves issues in a respectful manner
Uses first party communication
Demonstrates respect for others
Qualifications
Preferred
Previous Housekeeping/Environmental Service experience
Able to lift 0 - 40lbs frequently
Capable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift
Capable of pushing and pulling a maid cart, linen cart, or various equipment (over 100lbs) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
Capable to handle/interact with all chemicals used (i.e. bleach, wax, disinfectant, etc.)
Capable to work weekends, holidays, and even hours as needed per assigned area
Must have interpersonal skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Requires ability to work independently
Able to clean using repetitive motions, reach above shoulders, stoop and bend at the knees.

Excellent customer service and communication
Additional Requirements:
Depending on individual job assignment must be able to operate automated cleaning equipment/machinery.
Proficient in speaking and reading the English language
