Job Summary
As a Maintenance Technician at Epworth Villa, you'll help ensure our community remains a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. You'll perform essential repairs and maintenance tasks with compassion and care, directly contributing to our mission of enhancing lives every day.
Job Purpose
To provide compassionate daily living care that enhances the lives of our Residents by maintaining the safety, function, and appearance of our buildings and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance in assigned areas of the campus Repair building structures, furniture, appliances, HVAC systems, plumbing, and small electrical components Complete maintenance work orders as assigned Assist in monitoring outside contractors Report unusual occurrences or damage to the Maintenance Manager Provide on-call and weekend maintenance coverage as scheduled Maintain tools and equipment in safe, clean, and operable condition Practice safety and follow Epworth Villa emergency and safety procedures Assist with snow removal from walkways as needed Physical Requirements
Regularly lift or move 25-50 pounds Frequently exert up to 50 pounds of force Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret maintenance documents and safety procedures Able to write reports and communicate effectively with residents, families, and coworkers Basic math and measurement skills (fractions, decimals, whole numbers) Ability to read test equipment and technical diagrams Strong common-sense problem-solving and ability to follow instructions in various formats Other Requirements
Compassion, patience, and a service-focused mindset Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required 1-3 years of related maintenance experience, or equivalent education/training Experience in carpentry, plumbing, and painting required Trade certifications or one year of trade school preferred Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain) Why You'll Love It Here
