Florence Copper is expected to have the lowest energy and greenhouse gas-intensity (GHG) of any copper producer in North America and will reduce the United States' reliance on foreign producers for a metal considered to be critical for the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Florence Copper is a wholly owned subsidiary of Taseko Mines Limited which is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Taseko is also the operator and 75% owner of the Gibraltar copper/molybdenum mine in Canada and various other development projects. Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician at our Florence, Arizona site. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech occupies a safety sensitive position and is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and equipment problems, repair, overhaul, and return to service.
Specific Responsibilities Include: • Proficient in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, welding, bearings, basic metallurgy (stress cracking, metal compatibility), plumbing, machine shop, blueprints, schematics, and mobile equipment. • Install, repair, and maintain pumps, motors, and other equipment in an industrial setting. • Repair, install, fabricate, rebuild, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on process equipment. • Observe safety rules and procedures at all times. Operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner. • Perform equipment troubleshooting, pre-use checks, quality testing, and mechanical inspections. • Make decisions based upon technical documents and mechanical knowledge. • Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks and projects. • Assist other maintenance and/or operations employees as may be required. • Complete Work Orders, order parts, and other maintenance documentation as required.
Education and Work Experience: • 3+ years of mechanical/maintenance crafts experience to i.e., welder, boilermaker, machinist, facility maintenance or construction or a combination of education and experience. Maintenance experience at a SXEW, wellfield, or water treatment facilities is preferred. • Demonstrated ability to read and understand instructions. • Ability to work conscientiously with attention to detail. • Able to work effectively in both independent and in team structures.
Skills and Competencies: • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, Internet highly desirable. • Strong verbal and written communications skills. • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time. • Experience in collecting and entering data. • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents. • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, climbing stairs/ladders, etc. • Good interpersonal skills. • Self-motivated, managing multiple projects and activities. • Applicable safety (OSHA or MSHA) training/certificates.
Work Environment: • This position will include some office work, but some work will be performed in all-weather conditions both outdoors, and in a plant setting. • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. • Must work in compliance with the Florence Copper (OSHA) site safety program. • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the plant environment.
