POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Field Service Line Automation Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of all manufacturing, facility, & support equipment.
LOCATION :The position can be based either at DrinkPak's Headquarters (DP1) in Santa Clarita, California, or our Texas Facility (DP2) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Serve as the technical expert on all aspects of line automation, line controls, conveyance processes and equipment Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for line automation and conveyance related issues to reduce downtime and product waste. Define, document, and standardize line automation and conveyance procedures and specifications across all applicable lines. Collaborate with Quality to ensure line automation and conveyance meets all quality requirements Lead and train maintenance and production teams on proper conveyor and automation setup, operation, and maintenance. Work with OEMs and engineering teams for upgrades, commissioning, and validation of new conveyor/line controls or modifications. Lead rebuild activities on conveyors across DrinkPAK to ensure proper rebuild activities are being performed and delivering a vertical startup post rebuild Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for conveyor/line control related issues Drive continuous improvement projects focused on conveyor/line controls equipment reliability, and productivity. Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies in conveyor and line controls including a high emphasis on artificial intelligence tools Travel will be required to routinely visit all DrinkPAK facilities and ensure best practices are implemented network wide, 75% travel Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, manufacturing automation or other similar manufacturing-related specialization Minimum of 5+ years of working on line automation, conveyors, troubleshooting, creating standard operating procedures and training others with them. High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, manufacturing automation, or other similar manufacturing-related specialization. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar position; 4-6 years of experience preferred in a Field or similar manufacturing environment; 4-6 years of experience managing projects. Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or canning industries preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments. Experience with the following technologies: Variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motor. Rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler. Thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing. Krones or Techniblend equipment. HVAC, including chillers and/or air compressors. Demonstrates adaptability by reacting appropriately to unexpected changes in situations or circumstances. Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting; electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams. Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools. Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig, or stick) preferred. Skilled in the repair of variable frequency drives, servo motors, and controllers, communication systems (asi-bus, can-bus, profi-bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules preferred. Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges. Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of the plant or machine center. Will need to utilize a personal toolbox and personal basic tools.
