Job Description The Remittance Processing Associate I plays a vital role in our daily operations by efficiently processing and packaging remittance accounts. You will be responsible for handling incoming mail at our remittance center, ensuring deposits are carried out in accordance with customer specifications, balancing transactions, and performing essential data entry for analysis and billing. How You'll Spend Your Time Receiving and staging mail-in deposits for pre-processing as scheduled. Sorting and opening payment envelopes, utilizing both manual and automated methods. Using imaging equipment to ensure payment records meet quality standards and comply with Check 21 requirements. Reviewing and inputting data from the imaging process, ensuring accuracy in remittance documents. Generating reports that detail payment information per customer requirements. Compiling and delivering completed work to customers in alignment with specific courier instructions, ensuring they receive the expected information. Education & Experience Requirements Typically achieved through a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable or remittance processing operations (or similar roles). Attention to Detail - Ability to detect discrepancies and verify all remittance documents for accuracy. Strong Communication Skills - Verbal and written proficiency to facilitate effective interaction. Organizational Skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Problem Solving - Capable of troubleshooting and resolving arising issues. Basic Knowledge - Understanding of accounting principles, banking regulations, and compliance. Data Confidentiality - Expertise in handling confidential information and adhering to data security standards. Technical Proficiency - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, financial software, and related applications. Compliance Knowledge - Basic awareness of BSA, AML, HIPAA, and PCI regulations. Operational Knowledge - Understanding of remittance processes and equipment, such as MPE extractor, Opex 50, OPEX various models, and document scanners. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Office environment - ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
