Job Summary
The Dispatch and Clery Compliance Officer plays a dual role within the Campus Safety Department. This position serves as the lead dispatcher, overseeing communication and coordination of emergency and non-emergency calls for service. In addition, the role ensures institutional compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). The Compliance Officer will collect, review, and report campus crime data and support emergency notification systems and campus alerts. Typical Job Functions Dispatch Responsibilities: Receive and dispatch officers to emergency and routine calls for service from students, employees, and the public. Dispatch Campus Safety Officers and coordinate with local emergency services when needed. Monitor campus security systems including campus cameras, alarm panels, and access control. Maintain accurate and timely dispatch logs and records. Operate communication equipment including radios, phones, and digital dispatch systems. Maintain lost and found items and log. Run the front counter of the Campus Safety office. Clery Compliance Responsibilities:
Collect and compile crime statistics from campus security authorities (CSAs) and local law enforcement. Maintain records in accordance with Clery Act requirements. Prepare and distribute the Annual Security Report (ASR). Ensure proper issuance and documentation of timely warnings and emergency notifications. Assist with ongoing Clery Act training for CSAs and other stakeholders. Participate in audits, reviews, and policy updates related to Clery and emergency response. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) year of experience in administrative, dispatch, law enforcement support, or campus safety. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database entry. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI does not sponsor H-1B Visas) Additional Desired Qualifications
Prior experience in higher education or campus public safety. Familiarity with Clery Act compliance and federal reporting standards. Experience using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems. Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, and related campus safety laws. Bilingual (Spanish)
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required.
Background Investigations: Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
