SUMMARY
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications using hand tools, power tools and electrical and electronic test equipment. Designs and diagnoses system controls for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. Installs, maintains and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and piping systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane and measuring and testing instruments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, component procurement, construction, installation, and maintenance of machine control and instrumentation systems; Review ladder logic and diagnose equipment issues utilizing AB RS Logics, Micro 1000, and SLC500 software; Plan, coordinate and execute specialty testing and calibration; Pursue cost reduction opportunities in system operational design; Inspect, operate and repair all combustion equipment including billet ovens, furnaces, age ovens, etc.; Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as programmable controllers, motors, conveyors and robotics following electrical code and blueprints and using hand tools and test equipment; Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment; Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures using test equipment and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools; Visually inspect and test malfunctioning machinery and equipment, using test equipment, and discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers and equipment operators to diagnose malfunction; Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors, equipment operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine or equipment; Perform preventive maintenance, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery using rags, brushes and grease gun; Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors and positions sensing devices; Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related components; Repair and maintain physical structure of the plant and equipment, including masonry, carpentry and welding work; Replace electric motor bearings and rewires motors; Confer with management to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of the machinery and equipment; Direct, coordinate, prioritize and train workers engaged in performing repair and maintenance on machinery and equipment; Fabricate and repair ladders, platforms, tables and other metal structures; Set-up and operate machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools Follows safe work procedures TESTING

Maintenance Instrumentation & Electronics Technician:
Must show demonstrated ability for a minimum of 12 of the 15 Essential Skills described herein, and meet the mental and physical demands. Must pass Electrical, Mechanical and Leadership tests and possess verifiable practical experience in design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic control systems. Maintenance AAA : Must show demonstrated ability for a minimum of 12 of the 15 Essential Skills described herein, and meet the mental and physical demands. In addition, must pass Electrical, Mechanical and Leadership tests. Maintenance AA : Must show demonstrated ability for a minimum of 8 of the 15 Essential Skills described herein, and meet the mental and physical demands. In addition, must pass an Electrical and Mechanical test. Maintenance A : Must show demonstrated ability for a minimum of 6 of the 15 Essential Skills described herein, and meet the mental and physical demands. In addition, must pass an Electrical and Mechanical test.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); must pass entry level exam for Maintenance 'A'. Maintenance 'AA', 'AAA', and I&E Technician must have a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
