Job Title:
Overnight Maintenance Technician
Shift:
3rd Shift | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Schedule:
5 days per week Pay Rate:
$25.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled
Overnight Maintenance Technician
to join our team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety, sanitation, and quality standards during overnight operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery such as mixers, conveyors, ovens, and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain and inspect facility systems, including plumbing, lighting, and HVAC.
Use diagnostic tools to identify equipment malfunctions and perform root-cause analysis.
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and part usage.
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to reduce equipment downtime.
Respond quickly to equipment or facility emergencies to minimize production disruptions.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and proper use of PPE.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and company policies.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns in the work environment.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding maintenance progress or delays.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities
Proven experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with PLCs and automated equipment is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
Basic computer skills for data entry, communication, and documentation.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently during overnight hours.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.
Required to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks for up to 10 hours.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures (typically between 45°ree;F and 95°ree;F).
Exposure to moderate to high noise levels; hearing protection is required in production areas.
Will be exposed to machinery, tools, and moving parts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems .
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Food manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
