Lead Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) – Des Plaines, IL Hourly Wage:

$35–$45/Hour + Time-and-a-Half Overtime Benefits:

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) to contribute and grow within our Des Plaines facility.

We’re looking for a hands-on problem-solver with a knack for keeping machines running smoothly, someone who thrives in a fast-paced industrial setting. As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you’ll report to our Director of Maintenance and Engineering and play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates at peak performance. You’ll perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting problems, and support other team members to keep our production lines rolling.

Key Accountabilities:

Assist in installation, preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and modifications of conveyor, electrical, building, and mechanical systems on facility or automation equipment

Start machines and observe mechanical/electrical operations to determine efficiency and detect problems

Read work orders and specifications to determine which machines and equipment require repair or maintenance

Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas for repair

Reassemble machines after completing repair or maintenance work

Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists

Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment

Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain adequate stock

Record repair and machine maintenance information accurately

Communicate effectively with teammates

Share knowledge and help train others

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

4+ years of maintenance technician experience in manufacturing/industrial setting

Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Office

knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Electrical knowledge (up to 480V) and familiarity with state and electrical codes
