Position Summary
The Store Associate Lead plays a pivotal role in delivering an elevated guest experience by guiding and supporting the store team to exceed service and sales goals. This role combines hands-on guest engagement with leadership responsibilities, including coaching associates, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring high standards in merchandising and product knowledge. The Lead fosters a collaborative, motivated environment that empowers team members to deliver exceptional, personalized service. This position reports to the Store Manager.
This role will be accepting applications until October 1, 2025 for the Winter 25-26 Season.
Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities Deliver exceptional guest service by modeling a welcoming, attentive, and solutions-focused approach that reflects Aspen Snowmass standards Guide guests through rental, retail, ticket, and reservation processes, offering knowledgeable product recommendations that enhance their experience and drive sales Support team members by answering questions, sharing product knowledge, and helping resolve guest concerns or issues promptly Monitor store flow and adjust team focus or assignments to ensure smooth operations during peak periods Operate point-of-sale and RTP systems to process transactions accurately and assist others with troubleshooting as needed Maintain accurate cash handling and support daily till balancing and reconciliation Assist in training new associates and reinforcing service, merchandising, and operational expectations Ensure the sales floor remains clean, organized, and guest-ready, and help uphold visual merchandising standards Perform basic tuning and equipment maintenance to ensure gear is ready, safe, and up to standard Oversee stockroom organization, assist with receiving, and coordinate restocking to maintain inventory flow Help monitor for loss prevention issues and support reporting of inventory or cash discrepancies Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail sales or rental operations in a guest-facing, high-volume environment required At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or peer support role, such as shift lead, key holder, or trainer, preferred Completion of ski manufacturers' binding certification preferred or willingness to obtain Prior experience using rental, ticketing, or reservation software systems preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of winter sports equipment, apparel, and gear performance to support guest needs and train others on product features Understanding of company policies, POS systems, and rental/retail operations with the ability to guide others in best practices Familiarity with merchandising techniques, visual standards, and sales strategies that support guest engagement and revenue goals Skilled in retail selling techniques with the ability to coach team members on building guest trust and driving purchases Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and supportive feedback Demonstrated ability to lead by example and positively influence team dynamics and performance Ability to manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks when appropriate, and adjust to peak business flow Committed to upholding safety, risk management, and guest service standards consistently Adept at resolving guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a focus on long-term satisfaction Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to supporting operations Ability to communicate clearly in English; Spanish, Portuguese, or other language skills helpful in supporting international guests Maintains professionalism under pressure while creating a welcoming, service-first environment Additional Information
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50 lbs.)
