Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Evening Custodian to join our team at EC Middle/High School. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently while collaborating with other team members.
Responsibilities - Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing floors and surfaces throughout the school. - Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment. - Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed. - Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and activities. - Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or malfunctions to the supervisor. - Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all. - Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed. - Respond to emergency cleaning requests as needed, including spills or accidents. - Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure efficient workflow and coverage of all areas. - Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay informed about best practices and school policies.
Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. - Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety. - Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. - Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and procedures. - Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. - Flexibility to work evening shifts, including weekends if necessary. - Background check required prior to employment.
