A Manufacturing PM (Preventive Maintenance) Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of industrial machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role involves a combination of preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance:
Performing routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to equipment to prevent breakdowns and maintain optimal performance.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issues with manufacturing equipment.
Installation:
Installing new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
Maintenance:
Regularly inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining equipment to ensure it operates safely and efficiently.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
Safety:
Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Participating in efforts to improve maintenance processes and reduce downtime.
Skills and Knowledge:
Mechanical Skills:
Understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Electrical Skills:
Knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) technology.
Diagnostic Skills:
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
Problem-solving Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
Safety Knowledge:
Understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in using computer-aided maintenance management systems (CMMS).
