ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at the Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. This position will be responsible for installing and assembling new machines and equipment. Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery. This position hours are typically between 10:00pm-7:00am. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

Perform routine preventive maintenance on crushers, conveyors, screens, and other quarry equipment during overnight hours.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with plant machinery and systems.

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures or safety hazards.

Weld, fabricate, and make structural repairs to equipment and plant components as needed.

Lubricate equipment and change filters, belts, bearings, and other wear parts according to maintenance schedules.

Keep accurate maintenance logs and document all repairs and inspections performed during the shift.

Operate forklifts, man lifts, and other equipment safely to access and service hard-to-reach machinery.

Respond to emergency breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations and company safety policies.

Communicate shift activities, equipment issues, and required follow-up actions to day-shift personnel and supervisors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Field of Study Preferred: Millwright or Industrial Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Maintenance

Required Work Experience: 3 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in a plant or industrial environment

Travel Requirements: None

Mechanical aptitude with experience in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, screens)

Basic electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting motors, switches, and control panels

Welding and fabrication skills for making structural repairs and equipment modifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals

Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices

Ability to identify mechanical issues quickly and take corrective action with minimal supervision

Familiarity with MSHA safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

Comfortable working in outdoor, dusty, or noisy environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas

Physically capable of lifting heavy parts, climbing ladders, and working extended hours during overnight shifts

Strong safety orientation

Ability to work Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays

Pass a 7-year criminal background check, including both felonies and misdemeanors, as required for employment

Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
