We are looking for an Assistant Designer childrenswear for a top fashion company in New York, New York. This is 2 month freelance opportunity and operates on a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days onsite.
Responsibilities:
Execute design development process from concept to delivery
Update and manage tech packs and BOMs Research and identify new trends in the market
Perform competitive analysis and review design concepts
Create designs according to sales needs and assortment plans, and execute timely production according to calendar
Develop sketches in Illustrator and review spec and line sheets
Approve lab dips with design team
Participate in fit sessions
Collaborate and build relationships with vendors Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in fashion design
1-2 years experience in apparel design
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, creative, and meticulous
Ability to sketch
Extensive knowledge of pattern making and garment construction, as well as sewing techniques, colorways, and silhouettes
Childrenswear experience is a plus
Proficient in MS Office, Adobe, CAD, and Mac computers
