Career Start is seeking an entry level maintenance mechanic in Batavia, NY. The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for maintaining machinery in the facility, performing routine checks and ensuring proper lubrication.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong mathematical skills, along with ability to read and understand any and all plant drawings, sketches, blue prints, instruction, and technical manuals, along with detailed verbal instructions. Fabrication and cutting sheets General knowledge in electrical, plumbing and HVAC Knowledge of various lubrication methods and techniques, and also knowledge of various lubrication products. General maintenance duties including but not limited to, preventative maintenance, greasing, oiling, lubrication of machine and equipment, minor machine repair need to keep production running. Various janitorial duties including but not limited to, garbage collection, recycling, baling of cardboard, cleaning of various areas of the facility including all restrooms, shoveling or any other undesirable task that may arise.
SKILLS NEEDED:
Must be able to read plant drawing/sketches/blueprints & perform basic math functions. Must be able to lift heavier items Should be able to work in other facets of maintenance Must be able to work with disagreeable working conditions, (Inside / Outside, Rain, Snow, Cold, and Heat.)
