Job Title: Maintenance Helper
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Part-Time
Hourly Rate: $18.00 hr.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Helper supports the daily operations of the Maintenance Department by performing general upkeep and repair tasks throughout the club grounds, buildings, and facilities. This role is essential in helping ensure that the club environment is clean, safe, and properly maintained for members, guests, and staff. Normal start time will be 6 A.M. M-F, however; may vary depending on club events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with general maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical work
- Support setup and breakdown of special events, furniture moves, and seasonal decorations
- Perform routine inspections of club property and promptly report any issues
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas
- Change light bulbs, clean filters, and complete other small facility tasks as needed
- Monitor and restock maintenance supplies and inform supervisor when inventory is low
- Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain outdoor areas by assisting with landscaping, trash removal, and general upkeep
- Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards immediately
Schedule: Normal start time is 6:00 A.M., Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required, as hours may vary depending on club events and operational needs.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience is a plus
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and kneel for extended periods
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required based on club events and needs
- Uniform must be worn and kept in clean condition
