Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models. We are seeking an Operations Manager in Hanover, MD! JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Manager monitors all operations including, but not limited to; Process shipments, prepare paperwork, communicate freight status and dispatch drivers for pick up. The manager will be the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations and vendors and provide quality customer service, while meeting company policies and procedures. The Manager will provide training, complete performance reviews, and issue disciplinary action when necessary. Essential Functions: Freight handling via forklift Assist District Manager with general tasks

Responsible for ensuring safe operations as well as compliance with all OSHA regulations, all applicable laws, and Pilot's Corporate Policies

Effectively train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communications and morale

Reviews operational key performance measures monthly as well as benchmarking data to drive any required correctional or improvement strategies

Responsible for ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies

Oversee the warehouse operations including supervising direct reports

Overseeing all aspects of the Operations Department and employees

Delegating duties and responsibilities

Communicating freight status and any problems to custom

Load/Off-load build trucks for optimal routing

Ops manager is responsible for all the stations domestic KPI's

Other duties as assigned

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Customer service background preferred

Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional role responsibilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must have superior organizational and time management skills

Must be approachable and motivated

Knowledge of systems utilized as it relates to logistics

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment

Detail oriented and analytical

Understands TSA regulations

Strong problem solving abilities

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business is a plus

High school diploma or equivalent required

5 years experience in lieu of degree

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years in Operations Management, preferably in transportation and logistics

Experience with DOT regulations

Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems

3 years: Routing and Operations Experience

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
