Job Summary:
Kiddy Kollege is seeking a dedicated and organized Child Care Cook to join our team. This role is responsible for planning and preparing nutritious meals for children, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, managing food program documentation, and occasionally assisting in classrooms as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, knowledge of child nutrition guidelines, and a passion for ensuring children receive healthy and balanced meals.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Planning & Preparation:
Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks that meet the State Food Program requirements. Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies according to children's individual needs. Ensure meals are nutritious, balanced, and age-appropriate. Follow all food safety guidelines and maintain proper food storage procedures. Kitchen Maintenance & Cleaning:
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, including washing dishes, disinfecting surfaces, and properly storing food. Follow all KDHE health and safety regulations to ensure a safe food preparation environment. Maintain an organized kitchen, ensuring supplies are stocked and stored appropriately. Food Program Documentation & Compliance:
Accurately complete Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) documentation, including meal counts and food production records. Track inventory and order food and supplies as needed. Ensure all records are up to date and available for audits. Classroom Support:
Occasionally assist in classrooms to help cover teacher breaks. Engage with children in a warm, positive, and supportive manner. Assist teachers with transitions, activities, and basic care needs when needed. Qualifications:
Previous experience in food preparation, preferably in a child care or school setting. Knowledge of state food program guidelines (CACFP). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently. Strong attention to detail and organization skills. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Must pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements. CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or willing to obtain). Benefits:
