Job Title: Direct Support Professional 1:1 (Community Inclusion Focus)

Compensation: $22.50/hour, paid bi-weekly
FULLY PAID benefits for 30 hour work week, depending on plan selection

Your Role: Support ONLY 1 client!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Direct Support Professional to assist a young woman with disabilities in living her best life. She enjoys an active lifestyle and loves to engage in fun activities like yoga, dance, swimming, art, movies, and more. As her support, you'll help her live independently in her own apartment, fostering her autonomy, and enriching her life through daily tasks and exciting community outings.
What You'll Do:
Personal Care: Assist with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming, empowering her to live independently.
Household Support: Help keep her apartment clean, organized, and running smoothly-laundry, chores, and more. We all contribute and respect one another.
Community Involvement: Be a part of enriching activities like yoga, swimming, coffee dates, and music/art classes by helping her connect with the world around her.
Effective Communication: Use innovative tools like iPads and APPS to communicate seamlessly and ensure her needs are met. (Don't worry, we will teach you).
Team Collaboration: Work closely with a fantastic team to share insights and ideas, we encourage incorporating your gifts and talents, attending fun meetings and welcome ideas to continue to contribute her care plan.
Documenting Care: Record progress and important details, ensuring her care plan is followed and updated.
Who We're Looking For: NO Experience required! We will teach you!

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid WA driver's license, clean driving record, and personal auto insurance.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day.
Clear background check.
A passion for supporting independence and helping others grow.
Proficient in speaking and writing in English.

Earn mileage reimbursement for travel, and the opportunity to work additional hours alongside another supportive team member.

Job Responsibilities Include:
Personal Care: Person requires partial physical assistance of daily living skills-bathing, dressing, toileting, teeth brushing, grooming, etc.
Recognize and document and follow-up on the health needs of the client in a timely manner.
Household Tasks: Support person in her apartment to clean, organize spaces, laundry, etc.
Attend monthly team meetings.
Recreation and Entertainment: Support person's continued participation in current activities and discover new interests and opportunities in her immediate and extended community.
Travel with person to social functions and activities.
Community Outings: swimming, working out at YMCA, choir, bike riding, attend church, movies in the park, arts & crafts projects, yoga in the park, coffee dates.
Utilize iPad and Software Applications for communication with client and staff.
Team Player: We foster a collaborative work environment and cooperatively work with others on the team - We support one another and have fun!
Foster person's continued contact with her friends and family and expand her inclusive community by beginning and maintaining personal and professional relationships.
Assist person to support personal needs on a day-to-day basis according to individual support plan. Documents (includes IISP, PBSP, DDA-ISP, IFP, Safety Reminders, Care Guide, etc. Don't be overwhelmed we'll teach you!)
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Three professional references.
Read, write, and speak fluently in English, American Sign Language a plus.
Reliable transportation, clean driving record, valid Washington State Driver's License, and personal auto insurance.
Exemplify healthy habits for this person by remaining physically active. Able to easily walk long distances (2-4 miles), standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching crawling, able to push/lift/pull up to 50 lbs.
Successfully pass a background check permitting unsupervised access to vulnerable adults.
Smoking is not allowed on the job sight. (This includes electronic cigarettes).

Emotionally mature and intuitive.
Punctual and dependable.
Clean and organized.
Take direction and communicate needs effectively.
Understanding, patient, and above all passionate about working with persons with disabilities.
